This place holds a great importance in every heart of Sri Lankan people and there is a strong reason why. Legend says the relics of the Buddha were scattered around the world and the tooth of Lord Buddha was brought here and is now worshiped by millions of people from all around the world. This has to be in your top place when visiting Kandy.
2. Taking a stroll in the Botanical Garden
Garden is truly a small word for this beautiful place because one would need at least 3-4 hours to explore the place completely. It is more like a mini-forest that has trees of various spices and herbs that are cultivated in Sri Lanka. One will surely have a lot to learn from this place.
3. Attend the Cultural Dance Show in Kandy Lake Club
If you want to experience the art of Sri Lankan culture, then this is a must visit place. We were lucky to get to know more about their culture, the beauty of their classical dance form and how a message can be conveyed via a dance form. Their beautiful costumes only add to the whole art.
4. Go on a trail to Udawatta Kele Sanctuary
Up for some trekking thrills? Then this is the place to go. Here you will find thick dense forests with dozens of monkeys that are friendly. Here you can walk in the silence of the trees experiencing nature in its calmest form.
5. Visit the Kandy Lake
Take a nice soothing walk amidst the cool breeze on the sidewalk on the Kandy lake that is situated in the heart of the Kandy. Kandy can be crowded at times and a walk here can give you a breather from the noise of the city.
These are the few places that are a must-visit when visiting Kandy in Sri Lanka. Apart from these, one can also visit the Lankathilaka Vihara, Main Market and Kandy City Center for shopping purposes, Dambulla Cave Temple to name a few.
