What to Expect | 4N/5D Meghalaya Road Trip

Five days of mesmerising natural beauty, things which will leave you spellbound. Whatever pictures & videos you have seen of the place, nothing matches us to the real feel. The hike to the double-decker root bridge along with camping at Dawki & the vibe in Shillong makes this an entertaining trip, when you add a bunch of random people, mostly who enroll solo from different parts of the country.

The age category is usually between 25 to 55 years, with 75% of the people following in the age bracket of 26-35. It’s a trip which takes you deep into one of the lesser-known parts of India.

The 4N/5D Meghalaya Road Trip is an end-to-end road trip which starts at Paltan Bazaar, Guwahati & ends at the same place and we will travel around in a private vehicle.

Blueprint | Meghalaya Budget Road Trip

Day 1Paltan Bazaar Guwahati → Shillong

-> Arrive at KFC Paltan Bazaar, Guwahati by 12 PM. For the start of 4N/5D Meghalaya Road Trip

-> Hop into a taxi to Shillong, and enjoy the scenic drive. ( 100km)

-> Check into your homestay and freshen up

-> Leave for Wards Lake and Police Bazaar

-> Spend the evening strolling Police Bazaar

-> Return to homestay after dinner.

Day 2Shillong → Dawki → Riwai → Mawlynnong

-> After breakfast, leave for Dawki. (80 km)

-> Visit Umngot River for boating.

-> Drive to Riwai, the single-decker root bridge. {21km = 50-70 mins}

-> Lunch at Mawlynnong. Asia’s cleanest village.

-> Drive to Cherrapunji for the night stay.

-> Reach Cherrapunji at 8 pm and check into a homestay for the night.

Day 3Cherrapunji Sightseeing

-> After breakfast, leave for Cherrapunji Sightseeing.

-> Visit the Garden of Caves, Nohkalikai Waterfall, Seven sisters waterfall, and Mawsmai Caves.

-> Lunch along the journey.

-> Return to the homestay post-sunset

-> Rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 4Cherrapunji -> Shillong

-> After breakfast, pack up and leave for Shillong

-> En route, visit Mawphlang Sacred Forest and Elephant Falls

-> Post sightseeing, check into a homestay for the night.

-> Spend the evening strolling through Police Bazaar

-> Return to homestay by 9:30 PM

Day 5Shillong -> Paltan Bazaar, Guwahati

-> After breakfast, drive to Paltan Bazaar, Guwahati

-> En route, stop at Umiam Lake — the mist over the lake in monsoon looks ethereal.

-> Reach Paltan Bazaar by 1:00 pm

In Guwahati and Shillong, you’ll get everything from pizzas, burgers, dosas, etc as there are plenty of good restaurants. While in other places, it’s the basic Veg and Non-Veg Thali with a local taste.

Natural Calamity FAQ

What if there is a natural calamity or delay due to an external factor?
-Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances(strikes), or any delay arising due to an external factor etc. (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).

What is cancellation policy?

TLOW, based on the Cancellation Date, shall withhold the following amounts stated in the table below, from the Booking Amount or Trip Price as cancellation charges and refund the remainder to you. The refund shall be paid to you, within (21) calendar days from the Cancellation Date.

Cancellation Date is: Cancellation charges
– Before forty (40) calendar days prior to the date of commencement of Trip, 15% of the Trip Price

– On or after forty (40) calendar days but prior to thirty (30) calendar days day of commencement of Trip,
30% of the Trip Price

– On or after thirty (30) calendar days but prior twenty five (25) calendar days from day of commencement of Trip 50% of the Trip Price

– On or after twenty five (25) calendar days but prior to twenty (20) calendar days from day of commencement of Trip 75% of the Trip Price

– On or after twenty (20) calendar days but prior fifteen (15) calendar days from day of commencement of Trip 100% of the Trip Price

You may claim refund only in case of a confirmed booking where you have paid the entire Booking Amount. Where there is part payment of Booking Amount made the same shall be forfeited and there shall be no refund.

The mode of payment of refund amount to you (whether through cash, e-wallets, bank transfers, or cheques), shall be determined at the sole discretion of TLOW.
Notwithstanding anything stated in the Terms & Conditions, there are no refunds of any kind, provided for ‘Camping Trips’.
