2. Leh Gompa
Located in the heart of the town is Leh Gonpa which is often forgotten by travellers, who venture off to more renowned ones. The monastery is a must-visit.
3. Kargil kebabs
If you are a street food fan then the Kargil kebabs sold in Leh are the thing to try. You will find plenty of small handcarts selling chicken and mutton kebabs. The specialty of Leh is a kebab called Tabakmaz which is the similar to meat ribs.
4. Tibetan market
With plenty of Tibetan refugee shopping centres all around the town. these shopping grounds are haven for anyone and everyone from ₹30 for the tiny prayer flags to ₹8500 for a Buddha statue, the market has it all. Just remember to haggle.
5. Yak cheese pizza

Biking and Ladakh go hand in hand. It’s something that has been spoken, written and drooled over by one and all. If hardcore riding is not your thing, then renting a bike for a couple of hours just to get a feel of it, is worth every penny.

The town of Leh is like a complete maze. Get lost in the narrow lanes of Leh, walk with the locals, rotate the prayer wheel. Just explore and have fun.

Overlooking the entire town of Leh is the palace by the same name which offers travellers a panoramic wide-angle view of the entire town.

Leh has all kinds of deluxe and star hotels but the best way to get a real feel of the place and to soak in the culture is by opting to live with the locals. Home Stays are available all over the town and is highly recommend.
10. Meet Locals
A trip to Ladakh is incomplete without having a healthy conversation with a local. The locals are very excited to talk to travellers and the best way to meet the locals is in the main market in Leh. The fruit sellers are some of the nicest to strike a conversation with.
