The nearest airport to Mahabalipuram is Chennai International Airport, approximately 56 km (35 miles) away. A major international gateway, Chennai Airport is well-connected to domestic and international destinations. From the airport to Mahabalipuram, rent a taxi or take a prepaid taxi. Journey time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

By train :

Chengalpattu Junction is the nearest train station, about 29 kilometers (18 miles) away. It also has good access to various cities in India such as Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Hire a taxi or take a local bus from Chengalpattu Junction to Mahabalipuram. It takes about 1 hour.
