The Hippies culture which was thriving between 1960-1980 and sadly was cut short over the last 40 years has gone underground. It has been thriving in various types of traits and attributes of people. The list below is a small set of Hippie types that do leave a comment on the other types which are missing and which need to make it to our part two of this topic. 

-> Spiritual Hippies

The Spiritual Hippie is someone who need not be a follower of a particular religion but is a devout believer in spirituality. This could be anything from having faith in the universe, God or nature. Spiritual Hippies are the kind who have been on a Hippie journey through life for a long period of time and have eventually come to this understanding that life is nothing but a spiritual experience. 

-> Musical Hippies

As the name suggests, a lover of music is what they are. You’ll always see them roaming around with a musical instrument in hand or in their bag. No matter where they go, their vibe is all about the music. The musical Hippie is the kind who is always in and around music or concerts. 

-> Activist Hippie 

The kind who are always ready to lead a protest or be a part of one. Like all Hippies, the activists believe in nonviolent protest and their interest mostly revolve around animals, humans and nature-related issues. 

-> Intellectual Hippie 

The smart Hippies are a rare breed of Hippies who are driven by passion and their love for developing their passion into a reality. You’ll find these Hippies working in the creative fields of life design, ad, marketing etc. 

-> Pothead Hippie 

This is usually the stereotype for all modern-day Hippies. The pothead (Herb consumer) but not every Hippie is a pothead and not ever pot user is a Hippie. But a large chunk of Hippies do use pot as a form of therapy. Some use it to help them think better while indulging in creative work. 

-> Road Tripping Hippie

They love travelling whether it’s just a night drive after a long day at work or a week-long holiday. They just love being on the road. Travelling is in their blood and many find their Hippie calling in their younger days while being on the road. Road tripping Hippies are usually the most common type of Hippies in the modern digital era.  

-> Rastafarian Hippie 

The Bob Marley dreadlocks loving Hippies who roam around sporting dreadlocks are usually common Hippies who are on a long sabbatical travelling around the world or the ones who are full-time DJs or musicians. 

-> Artistic Hippie 

They love art and everything about it. You’ll always find them doodling on anything from a canvas to a notepad. Anything that’s in front of them and they will be engrossed in some form of art. 

-> Corporate Hippie 

Finally, the 9 to 5 Hippie whose heart and soul is of a Hippie but is stuck in the rat race of life in the concerts jungle working for an MNC to make ends meet. But the minute they get a chance to escape the clutches of the corporate world you’ll find them.
