When one talks about surfing it seems like a dangerous sport or an adventure activity which is risky. But still, people out there having vigour and passion to carry it on and one can say that it is courageous of them. See it as a sport or as an activity done for entertainment, it is commendable either way.

Here are five places where surf lovers can indulge:

1. Visakhapatnam:

A famous port area and shipbuilding place in Andhra Pradesh, the second-largest city Vizag has amazing wide beaches and a number of surfing spots. The most famous ones are Rama Krishna and Rushikonda beach. The waves are suited for beginners as they are not too strong or fast. A little away from our land towards the south in the Bay of Bengal is a dream place for intermediate and advanced surfers. Since, this is the most farthest located island, the surfers have to travel by boat to reach to the surf spots. From mid of March till May these huge and fast waves really give surfers a shot at shining out in the sea with the board. And beginners have a shot here as there are many spots around here. 3. Kovalam beach in Kerala:

Joining the Kovalam surf club benefits you as it is an NGO and prices are comparatively cheaper than others in India. Get there and go try out for yourself if you are a surfer or not.

4. Gokarna in Karnataka:

A place for backpackers, pilgrims, surfers and hippies. The calm and even-tempered waves are a great spot for beginners between October and November. The best place is Gokarna beach near Mahabaleshwar temple. The Cocopelli surf school offers course from scratch to the finish.

5. Goa:

There are magic and sports as well as adventure. You get the perfect spot to keep your foot on the surfboard. The most famous place for surfing is Baga beach which also has activities like sea kayaking, jet-skiing, parasailing, etc. Calangute beach is another spot to surf at. You can join in the Banana surf school to learn and catch some awesome waves at Mandrem beach.

Surfing is a tough sport as you need to swim along with the surfboard and wait until the perfect waves hit.
