Ten Life Lessons from the TLOW Internship

I recently had the opportunity of a lifetime when I scored an internship with TLOW in the picturesque town of Manali. Little did I know that this journey would not only be about work but also a profound learning experience. Here are the 10 invaluable life lessons that tlow internship, Yolo Manali taught me.

1. The Power of Human Connection:

My TLOW internship stint opened my eyes to the fact that as humans, our fundamental purpose is to connect, understand, and assist each other. Every person you meet has a unique story, and taking the time to build relationships enriches our lives. It made me realise that there are countless untold stories around us, waiting to be discovered.

2. Stepping out of My Comfort Zone:

As an introvert, I was initially hesitant to strike up conversations with strangers. However, it pushed me out of my comfort zone. Engaging with customers and feeling their positive energy was not only fulfilling but also boosted my confidence. It taught me that growth often lies beyond the boundaries of comfort.

3. Living in the Moment:

Amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Manali, I learned the importance of cherishing each moment. Whether it’s a good or bad moment, it’s fleeting. So, I decided to savour every second of my daily routine, appreciating the beauty of the present.

4. The Strength of Teamwork:

My fellow interns became my pillars of support. There were times when I felt lost, not knowing where to start. However, their guidance and shared experiences helped me immensely. Teamwork truly does make the dream work.

5. Embracing Unpredictability:

My original plan was to indulge in hiking and trekking, but Mother Nature had different ideas. Unforeseen weather conditions disrupted my plans. Nonetheless, I am determined to pursue these adventures in the coming months. Manali taught me the importance of adaptability.

6. Family First:

I realised that nobody cares for you like your family does. It reminded me to check in on my loved ones, even when I’m miles away. It’s essential to nurture the bonds that truly matter.

7. Affordable Indian Travel:

If you’ve been holding back from exploring India due to budget concerns, think again! Manali showed me that India’s public transport system is not only efficient but also economical. It’s a reminder that adventure is within reach for all.

8. Building Bonds:

Making friends and sharing stories is a universal language. Whether you’re from Manali or Mumbai, connecting with people is a powerful way to expand your horizons and create lasting memories.

9. The Courage to Try:

It encouraged me to try new things, even if I didn’t know how to do them. Mistakes are part of the journey, but they also offer valuable lessons. Taking that leap of faith can make you 1 percent wiser for your next attempt.

10. Internship Embraces Change:

Perhaps the most profound lesson of all was the transformative power of stepping out of your comfort zone. Moving to a new place for work or exploration can change you mentally and physically, and it alters your perspective on life itself.
