9 Fun things to do in Kelve

So while camping with us along the lesser-known beach of Kelve, these area few things which you can consider doing to get an in-depth experience of the place and camping.

1. Walk to a watchtower

There are some watchtowers on the shore of the sea. These towers were built by the army of Shivaji Maharaj to protect his province from the Portuguese. At the same time when Britishers were trying to capture the western seafronts for their trade. These towers served against both.

2. Pitch your own tent

Pitching your own tent is also a different type of experience and a lot of fun. People think pitching a tent is big task. But you can pitch your tent in less than five minutes if you know the right technique.

3. Do it yourself (DIY) barbecue (bbq)

Many of us have cooked a barbecue when we were at a party or at a restaurant. But making a barbecue by yourself is a different experience. Cooking your food on a bonfire while camping is fun.

4. Stroll on an empty Kelve beach

Yolo Kelve beach vibe

Kelve is not commercial as other beaches in Mumbai. It is empty most of the time, you will hardly find anyone other than the villagers or local fishermen.

Have you ever burnt a bonfire on the beach with your friends? It gets cold in the night if you are camping near the seashore, so a bonfire is very important to keep yourself warm.

6. Try the fish thali

If you’re doing beach camping, then fish thali is a must have thing. Prepared by the locals, it is authentic and yummy. You will get different types of fish and prawns in the gravy.

7. Play games

We all love to play card games, Uno and monopoly with friends. You won’t realise how your night will pass enjoying your favourite games. You can also play mafia, jhenga and many more other games. If you like to play on the beach, then football and cricket is a must.

8. Chill in the treehouse

Chilling in the treehouse, watching the sunset and people chilling around the beach is bliss. Add some hot soup and Maggie to it and you will have a blast.

9. Build your own sandcastle

When we were in school we loved to make sandcastles whenever we went to visit the beach. It is fun making your own castle and remembering your childhood days.
