Myanmar immigration process
The immigration process is very easy and requires no money to do it. In Moreh, there are two gates to enter Myanmar. Gate no. 1 will be mostly preferred by the travellers who want to do local sightseeing and Gate no. 2 is for those who want to buy in the Myanmar market. Gate number 2 has a big gate saying ‘India Burma Friendship gate’ Just a word of caution, please don’t click photos at the gate, as it is a non-photographic area. You can be in trouble for clicking pictures, so please avoid it.
The immigration process can be done at both the gates. To go to Gate no. 1, you can take an auto from Moreh main bazaar area which cost you around 30 bucks to reach the immigration point. After getting dropped by the auto on the main road, you will see a counter where one officer is sitting. You will also see a board saying Gate no. 1 Immigration.
You will require your valid identification card which will be a proof that you are a resident of India. Nothing else is needed. Everybody who is going to Tamu should have their ID card or else you won’t be permitted to cross over.

Please keep in mind that you have to get back before 4 pm. That’s the closing timing of the gate for tourists. So please pay attention to the time. Also, please avoid checking the time on your phone because when you enter the Tamu area, your mobile tower changes and it catches a time zone of Myanmar which is one hour prior to our time zone. So please keep all these things in mind before going to Tamu.
