The Beauty Of Phuket: Thailand’s Largest Island

Phuket is the largest mountain island in Thailand with 540 sq.km land area. It lies in the southern Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket is a home to many beaches, sea-side resorts, restaurants and spas.  In the west of the island there is a mountain range and dozens of small islands from the north to the south.

The island is often overlooked in favour of beaches ,nevertheless there is a lot to do and see in this old town with a lot of heritage buildings. Phuket is a very fascinating and a diverse island to explore. Its has a very beautiful coast line, rich culture, splendid natural sights, many outdoor activities and sports, unforgettable nightlife, amazing dinning,etc, these are just few of the many attractions.

There are many small and beautiful islands just offshore which can be easily reached by boat and not forgetting the natural wonders found just beyond Phuket to the north of the island are also very close at hand.

The most distinctive feature of the bay are the  limestone cliffs that come straight out of the emerald green water. Phuket has a very happening nightlife, an after-dark stroll down the Patong’s Bangla Road is a must. The roads are shut down to vehicle traffic and is open 400m long for a festival of neon lights, cheap beer and loud music. The road is jammed packed most of the nights but is quite a lively and friendly place to walk around and if you are looking for a fun and happening night out in Phuket then Bangla Road is where you should be. 

Local markets are most often a nice place to get some amazing weird and wonderful souvenirs. Night markets at Phuket have a really different yet special feel to them. You can grab on some amazing treats for your evening meal or just shop for yourself and your loved ones as the clothes or things sold there are at a very reasonable prize (but you need to use your bargaining skills as sometimes they may charge you more if your a tourist).
