Winter camping: Pros and cons

When it’s cold outside & your planning to go winter camping, most people choose to crawl on the sofa with a hot cup of chocolate milk and watch a movie or read a book. However, there are some people who like going camping. Then there are those who dare to go camping in winter. Why would someone do such a thing? You might ask. 

There are a few reasons to go winter camping: to challenge yourself, to enjoy ice fishing, bonfires in the blistering cold and to enjoy pure silence. Seeing the pine trees just standing there all white, tall and the mountains covered with a white sheet of snow is amazing. While summer camping attracts lots of people and bugs, winter camping has no bugs, which is really good. There are hardly any campers so automatically the place stays clean.

If you thought mornings are bad, then you need to experience a morning during winter camping. Waking and trying to function in the cold is definitely a challenge. But after you manage to get the fire up and going and make your tea, you will feel confident and proud of yourself. After a day spent playing in the cold, with snow, which by the way is just for a couple of hours, there is nothing better than some food.

While winter camping, you don’t need to be in love with someone in order to hug him or her: the simple thought of snuggling with someone becomes very attractive. Winter camping is a challenge. All in one, winter camping is not for everyone, as it tests your abilities.  If you do take up the challenge, you will learn a lot of interesting and useful things, about yourself. It’s certainly going to be possible, nevertheless not at all easy. But like the wise men said dedication and hard work can help you do wonders. And it will help you realize that life is worth living for so live to the fullest in every chance you get. Go out, see the world, meet new people, don’t let the cold stop you.
