The artist will give you a free orientation of the history, culture of the mask & use of the mask.
The process of making a mask takes anywhere between 100-500 hours
The Satra halls have mask hanging on every wall
You will see the artist live at work during visit. They pretty much work all year.
Young artist are trained in the Satra & a workshop for travellers is also possible on request.
Tourist are allowed to wear the mask to get a real first hand feel.
It’s a 15 minutes drive from the village of Garmur in Majuli.
