Kashid is a beach town on the shores of the Arabian Sea, in the North Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It is located 30 km from Alibag and 135 km from Mumbai on the Alibag-Murud road. Kashid has one of the most beautiful coastlines in the Konkan region and with its own privacy and golden sand, Kashid has now become a perfect weekend getaway for Mumbaikars and Punekars.
Winter is the best season to visit Kashid beach from September to February when the weather is pleasant and travellers can swim in its crystal clear blue waters. Kashid beach comes to mind when you are an adventure seeker. It has water sport activities such as parasailing, banana boat ride, snorkelling, horse riding which will surely get your adrenaline running.
The vast stretches of the beach are probably one of the best things to see in Kashid with some beach areas really deserted with no humans in sight. However, they are quite safe to walk in the evening. Many people rent bicycles to ride along the sea. It’s a beautiful sight during the early mornings because you get to see the most beautiful lush greenery on either side of the road.
Kashid has small stalls which serve snacks like omelette and poha. These stalls are open from 8 AM in the morning till dusk. If you travel one km ahead of Kashid towards Murud, there are places where one can find some mouth-watering sea fish preparations. One should also try some cold apple juice and famous coconut water which can be easily found.

Murud Janjira Fort
About 21 km from Kashid Beach, this fort is surrounded by turquoise coloured waters of the Arabian Sea. Tickets cost Rs 60 per head. Once inside the fort, you can hire a guide for about Rs 100 per head to know the history and significance.
Phansad Bird Sanctuary
A walk through the park, inhaling the fragrance of the clean and rich air while hearing the sound of nature is one of a kind experience. Phansad Bird Sanctuary also houses many amphibians, insects and mammals and has a large number of bird species.
Sea waves crashing onto the rock form the top of the fort is a beautiful sight with Korlai Fort now a famous attraction. Evenings are the best time to visit if you wish to enjoy the colourful sunset. This fort now stands in ruins but is a fabulous piece of history nonetheless.
