Thailand’s Magical superstar: Phi Phi Islands

Thailand’s island superstar, the Phi Phi Island (pronounced as “Pee Pee”) are an island group. These islands lie between the Straits of Malacca and the large island of Phuket and are administratively part of Krabi province.

A 45 minutes speedboat ride from either Phuket or Krabi or a 90 minute ferry boat ride can get you to these islands that offer ultimate tropical getaway. Its the topic of conversation between travelers/ tourists all over Thailand and has been in many movies. It is a group of six islands with two main islands called Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh.

Don is a larger and inhabited island compared to Phi Phi Leh and attracts hundreds of visitors to stay on its beautiful shoes where as Phi Phi Leh is smaller uninhabited but hosts some stunningly lovely beaches and bays including the Maya Bay which is world famous and was the set where The Beach starring Leonardo Di Caprio was filmed. The rest of the islands in the group include Bida Nai, Bamboo Island (Koh Mai Phai), Koh Young (Mosquito Island) and Bida Nok are more of large limestone rocks jutting straight out from the sea.

The Island are considered some of the beautiful ones in Southeast Asia as when approached by boat, they rise from with in the sea like a fortress and they feature some lovely classic tropical beaches, brilliant rock formations and vivid blue-turquoise waters teaming with colourful and beautiful marine life, it is paradise indeed.

The island has a lot of popular site to offer to its visitors , a great choice of activities and tours and of course the natural beauty of the island is second to none, there is always something to do or see in Phi Phi Islands.
