10 Fun things to do at Yolo camp

Yolo camp is around 8 kms from Kasol and is a great place to unwind and relax. This place is located inside Malana Gate and offers a peaceful time in nature’s lap. Here are 10 things to do at the Yolo camping site.

1. Sit by the river

Yolo camping is strategically located in front of River Parvati that flows across the Parvati Valley. One can hear the gushing river sound all day long even from the tents. It only adds to the scenic beauty and one could sit near the river all day long and not realise how time flies. The river source starts from Mantalai which is a six-day trek from Kheerganga. It is said that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married here and hence the River Parvati originates from that point. The river water maintains its bluish-green colour except during the monsoon. It feels peaceful and connected to nature to sit by the river.

2. Fishing

The serene yet swift Parvati is a breeding spot for enormous number of fishes. Fortunately, this activity is not as commercial yet and hence you could be the one setting the trend. Spend your afternoons lazing by the magnificent river while also honing your fishing skills. One can try their luck and go fishing at the river. Although it needs a good amount of patience, it’s not difficult to catch fish. Fishing gear is available at Yolo camping.

3. Play with a husky

Everyone loves dogs. There’s a Siberian husky puppy at Yolo camping. He’s playful, friendly and a naughty pup. A dog lover’s dream come true. Spend time chilling with the fluffy husky and take enough selfies.

There are plenty of games like badminton, Jenga, Uno and other card games apart from PlayStation. There are team games as well and so no chances of getting bored.

6. Chill at the cafe

The Yolo cafe has large glass windows that have a scenic mesmerising view. One could just sit and listen to music all day and get lost in the peaceful vibes of the Parvati Valley. Look at the glittering snow-capped mountains and forget your worries.

7. Camping

Camping helps one adjust one’s body cycle to nature’s cycle. With our hectic city schedule, we often sleep late and wake up late, later complaining why half of the day gets wasted. Camp in the Swiss tents or opt to stay at the Alpine tent near the Parvati river. The view from the tents will leave you spell-bound. The night sky is filled with a million stars which adds to the charm.

8. Barbeque

Barbeque on a cold night. Grilling your own vegetables or meat and eating it under a sky filled with million stars is a great experience.
