Backpacking was the dream and so was Arunachal. The TLOW blueprint had a whole lot of ‘explore’ and it seemed to suit my interest like nothing else. I remember calling them up and asking if it would be safe enough for a woman choosing to go solo.
And today, as the much awaited trip comes to an end, I couldn’t have been any more grateful. For it was indeed “a trip of a lifetime” as Sherwin said it would be. The trip was all I could have asked for and much more.
The trip made me grow as a person, helped me know myself better. I’m passionate backpacker since the last four years and have travelled to more than 30 different destinations of India. This group of strangers are the ones with whom I have experienced snowfall for the very first time in my 24 year of mortal life, to interest with localites, to my local cuisine to witness the monk chant their prayers in the monastery- it was a whole new experience on it own.
On the second last day of the trip, all I feel is like saying is a huge THANK YOU to TLOW for making it happen. One week of absolute solitude amidst the mountains can’t wait to experience something similar … soon
Ps: If I had to choose one moment from the last seven days, it would be the one at the monastery today. Sitting there, observing the lamas, listening to their prayers, songs that sounded peaceful despite that fact that I had no clue what they meant – I realised more strongly than ever before that the present moment in all that counts. ‘Now’ is all we have. You better not forget that while regretting your past or worrying about your future.
Make the most of today. Go backpacking with TLOW. Explore more. Be happy 🙂
