There are around 150 islands off its 150 km long coastline with many featuring white sandy beaches and turquoise waters and jungle-covered interior, waterfalls, the majestic limestone cliffs, wildlife, etc all that add up to Krabi’s beauty and it’s a great place of selection that offers natural assets to its visitors along with a wide range of leisure as well as fun activities for the whole family.

One can visit this island to enjoy some really amazing activities such as rock climbing, sea kayaking, island hopping, snorkelling, jungle trekking and scuba diving that are among the most well-known activities and the occupation of the locals that can be enjoyed while on a vacation in Krabi, Thailand.

It is an agricultural area with sandy clay state producing things like fruit, rubber, palm oil and coffee. The main cash crop grown is rubber. Second coming in, is palm oil and coconuts being the third. However, with its natural surroundings of palm-fringed beaches, tropical islands, caves and forest waterfalls attract tourists seeking adventure-bound trips, which has gone up in the tourism industry earning a substantial income from it.

Comparatively new to tourism, Krabi area is being developed very carefully with no rise of hotels and a wide range of places for accommodation and without any destruction to its natural blessings. Ao Nang, Rai Ley and Phra Nang, these areas mostly near the beach have accommodation with small local hotels in the Capital, Krabi Town. This place is a very good place to relax as it has many beaches that are reachable by boats only and its pretty unhurried, keeping minimal development.

Most of the Krabi province has been designated National Parks one of them being The Hat Noppharat Thara-Koh Phi Phi National Park incorporating many mainland beaches, the Phi Phi Islands (which became famous when featured in the 2000 film The Beach starring Leonardo Di Caprio and over 80 smaller islands).

Another National Park in Krabi Province is the Ko Lanta National Park which includes many coral islands and diving sites. Ko Lanta Yai, the largest island is home to Chao Le, sea gypsies as well who sustain themselves largely through fishing. It’s also the site of park headquarters. The islands are visited from October through November in the non-monsoon months, it’s the best time to visit as during the monsoon most of the islands are shut.

With beautiful and relaxing scenery, Krabi also offers two popular mainland national parks namely Khao Phanom Bencha and The Bokk-Horani. These places offer some wonderful scenic attractions including waterfalls and caves and opportunities for trekking, eco-tours and bird watching.
