Mumbai to Khopoli via local train: A fun 2 hours

The day starts early on a Saturday morning, make sure everything is packed for our stay at Khopoli. Ensure to carry enough refreshments for the journey. It is advisable to keep yourself hydrated throughout the journey and wear a cap to protect your head from the heat.

Arrive at Ghatkopar railway station at 10:30 am and book tickets. Due to the frequency of the trains from Ghatkopar to Khopoli being very limited, take a 11:01 am train from Ghatkopar to Karjat instead. 

Train to Khopoli

The trains will not be crowded considering the day and time of travel. You can play the Ukulele or guitar and sing some songs on the train while travelling, of course make sure you are not creating a nuisance in the train and everyone is reciprocating to the Yolo vibe spread by you.

The train from Ghatkopar arrives at Karjat in time to board the next train to Khopoli which is at 13:15 hrs. Arrive at Khopoli Railway station at 13:40 hrs and exit the platform from the right side in the direction of the train. 

`Road trip

Take a tumtum or rickshaw that would take you directly to the village of Parli. You can also take the rickshaw to the next junction called Phata by the locals and from the junction another Eco car to Parli Village. 

You can also board a local ST bus which will directly take you to Parli village, all you need to do is ask around and find the bus stop. Parli is a small busy village which has stalls, shops and pharmacies. Do not expect anything fancy, but you should find basic things that you would need for your daily use. 

There are different ways of traveling to Khopoli, this is the most economical way of travelling. Then enjoy the pool, activities and food.

1. Start by reaching a convenient railway station in Mumbai. The two major railway stations in Mumbai are Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Mumbai Central.

3. Board a local train on the Central Line that travels towards Karjat. These trains typically depart from either CST or Dadar station.

4. Make sure to check the train schedule and plan accordingly, as the frequency of trains may vary based on the time of day.

5. Depart from the train at the station. It is the third last station on the Central Line towards Karjat.

6. Once you reach the station, you can easily find transportation options like auto-rickshaws or taxis to reach your intended destination within the place.

It is advisable to check the train schedule and timings beforehand to plan your journey accordingly. The journey time from Mumbai by train can vary depending on the train you choose, but it typically takes around 2-3 hours.
