Is the Google Pixel 7 Worth it in 2026? Best Real User Experience
The Google Pixel 7 with its Tensor chip G2 launched way back in October 2022 and when it launched it was the flagship phone by Google for that year. Fast forward to 2026 and the question is whether the phone is still worth using or worth buying?? You’ll find plenty of Google Pixel 7 deals in the second hand market since google no longer is selling this phone.
I have been using the Google Pixel 7 since December 2023 after my Google Pixel 5 randomly died on a trek in Meghalaya, North East India. Back in December 2023 I managed to get the Google Pixel 7 for ₹35,000 (Mumbai Grey market) which was a steal deal at that time for the phone. The Google Pixel 8 was around ₹60,000 at that time.
As of July 2026 you can easily find the Google Pixel 7 being sold at ₹17000 to ₹19000 based on the condition of the phone and the accessories that you will get along with it. Since the phone still has one more Android update left ie the Android 18 which will launch in 2027.

So is the Google Pixel 7 Worth buying in 2026?
Now this question can only be answered based on a list of 6 comparisons that you need to make to decide if the phone fits your scheme of things or no.
Camera & Budget [Pro]
If you want a phone below ₹18,000 which has a top notch phone camera then the Google Pixel 7 is a fabulous buy. No other phone in this price bracket will even come close to the camera on this phone. I have been using it as my primary phone camera since the day I got the phone and this has been simply outstanding. 99% of the images on my website and Instagram handle are from the Google Pixel 7.
Battery Life [Con]
Now this is where you really need to decide if the Google Pixel 7 will work for you. If you are a heavy user who wants gaming and loves watching videos then the phone isn’t going to hold good for you. You will need to charge the phone at least 2-3 times a day. I have replaced the battery of the phone and it still does not last the entire day on one full charge. And my usage is mostly instagram, Facebook and browsing the internet. The battery life is the biggest draw back of the phone in 2026.
Software & UI [Pro]
Again this is where the Google Pixel 7 comes up as a winner in 2026. The phone still has Google support for updates till October 2027 and has just received Android 17 which has made the UI even better. For a phone which was launched back in 2022 the phone is flawless when it comes to answering calls and texting. There is Zero lag in any of these basic uses.
Overheating Issues [Con]
Now this overheating issue is a real concern. In the summer months of May and June when the heat wave struck the country my Google Pixel 7 was in a terrible state. I had to switch my phone off to charge it. The phone refused to charge when it was on even in an Air condition room the phone was just stuck at 20-25% battery. Even now as the monsoon has arrived I sometimes have to switch the phone off because it starts randomly over heating.
Charging Speed [Con]
This is another area where the Google Pixel 7 is a bummer in 2026. The phone takes nearly 60-70 minutes to charge from 0-100% and if you are using the phone while it’s charging it will take close to 2 hours. For those who want to charge their phone quickly this Pixel 7 is definitely not going to be of any use.
Call Quality [Pro]
Now if you are someone like me who needs the phone for a lot of calling and texting, the Google Pixel 7 is an excellent choice. The phone has excellent call quality and noise cancellation which makes it great to use. Texting is so good that you will never make a mistake while typing. Typos are a rarity and typing emails from this phone is joy.
Now based on the above six points that I have listed you need to make a decision if you feel the Google Pixel 7 works for your daily use or not. It’s a great phone for people who are looking for a good office phone to be given to an employee, be it a shop or even a reservation team. Who needs a phone which they can text and call without any of that annoying Lag which is very common in phones priced at ₹17-18k
With around 15 months of software support left the phone can easily be used for at least 3-4 years after its last update which is scheduled for October 2027. So if you want to get a sold phone for your parents who use it mainly for calling and WhatsApp along with Youtube videos then the Google Pixel 7 is a great buy.
One of the best ways to extend the battery life of the pixel 7 is by putting the phone on battery saver mode when you’re out for the whole day and do not have access to a charging port. This will help extend the battery life of your phone by at least 50% but doing so will not compromise your use of the phone.
In comparison to the newer Google Pixel phones the Pixel 7 is worth the buy for those who want a solid phone with the latest android and one more update yet to come, coupled with the fact that the phone has an excellent camera.
Finally is the Google Pixel 7 Worth buying in 2026?
If your on a tight budget but want a phone which has a good camera, the latest android 17 and the powerful google AI all in a budget of under INR 18,000, then the Google Pixel 7 is a great phone which can work well for the next 3-4 years after the last update. All you might need to do is change the phone battery which will cost you above 2-3k India for an Original battery replacement.
