Bhutan backpacker blueprint in 8 days

Bhutan, the world’s happiest country is a backpacker’s dream. A road trip which starts off at Bagdogra and goes all the way to Paro and Thimphu in Bhutan including a hike to Tiger monastery, this is an eight day backpacker road trip like no other.

  • Accommodation. (2 to 3 in a room depending on room size).

  • Only on payment of 50% of the trip cost will a seat be confirmed.

Terms & Conditions

Call in for a customized trip for a group of six or more

Things to carry:

  1. Pass Port.
  2. Backpack. (Mandatory)
  3. Essentials to pack.
  4. FAQ’s for Bhutan

Day One:

  • Arrive at Bagdogra by 12:00 HRS.
  • Hop into an SUV and drive to Phuenthsoling. (164km = 4 hours)
  • Reach Phuenthsoling by 17:00 HRS and check into our guest house.
  • Rest of the evening at leisure.

Day Two:

  • Post breakfast and after immigration leave for the capital city of Thimphu.  (165km = 5 hours)
  • Reach Thimphu by tea time and check into our guest house.  
  • Spend the rest of the day exploring the town on foot.  

Day Three:

  • Another day in Thimphu.
  • Post breakfast, visit the Bronze Buddha statue & Takin reserve (national animal of Bhutan).
  • After lunch, visit the museum and Dzong.
  • Rest of the evening at leisure.

Day Four:

  • Leave in the morning by 8:00 HRS for Phunaka. (85km = 3 hours)
  • Reach Phunaka by noon.
  • Check into our guest house at Bhajo.
  • Visit Phunakha Fertility temple, suspension bridge and Dzong.
  • Rest of the evening at leisure.

Day Five:

  • Post breakfast, leave for Paro. (127km = 3 hours) 
  • Reach Paro by noon and check into our guest house.
  • Visit Paro museum and temple.

Day Six:

  • Leave in the morning by 7:00 HRS for Tiger monastery in Paro.
  • Reach the base camp by 7:30 HRS and start the 5 km hike.
  • Return back to the guest house by 16:00 HRS.
  • Rest of the evening at leisure.

Day Seven:

  • Last day in Bhutan.  
  • Post breakfast, leave for Phuenthsoling. (160km = 4 hours)
  • Reach Phuenthsoling by noon.
  • Check into our guest house for the night.
  • Rest of the day at leisure.

Day Eight:

  • Leave by 7:30 HRS to Bagdogra.
  • Reach Bagdogra airport by 11:30 HRS.
