Yolo Khopoli is situated in Wandroshi, Navghar, in the taluka of Sudhagad, district of Raigad, Maharashtra. Located on the foothills of the Sahyadris, this destination offers more than what meets the eye. Being just 99 kms from Mumbai and Pune, this farm-destination is the place to be for a weekend getaway from the daily turmoils of life with your friends, families or colleagues.

A property that is spread out on five-acres of land, Yolo Khopoli offers a choice between both camping and dormitory accommodation along with a wide range of activities and beautiful, scenic places to visit around. We at TLOW offer camping starting at Rs1500/- per person and dormitory stay at Rs750/- per person all inclusive.

We can reach Yolo Khopoli by train as well as by road. To travel by train, we must reach Ghatkopar at around 10:30 hrs in the morning, just in time to board the 11:01 hrs train which will be heading toward Karjat. It takes approximately an hour and a half to reach Karjat station, which means we’ll be there at 12:30 hrs. We then exit the current and board the next train which departs from Karjat at 13:15 hrs. If we’re lucky to have reached on time, we’ll find the train headed to Khopoli halted at the station waiting for departure.

In order to reach by road, either by Mumbai or Pune, one has to drive on the Bengaluru-Mumbai-Pune highway and enter the Khopoli-Pali road to Yolo Khopoli. Upon arrival at Khopoli, you can either take a direct rickshaw to the destination which will cost you around Rs 400 to Rs 700 or catch one of the sharing rickshaws who will take you to the Shilphata, a place where all public transports like buses and taxis arrive.

At Shilphata, one will be able to see several forms of transportation choices. The most efficient and budget friendly option to reach the village of Navghar from Shilphata is a tum-tum. Tum-tums look like elongated rickshaws and they can hold upto nine people each.

The journey from Khopoli station to Yolo Khopoli is filled with views of orchards and farms. One can also get a glimpse of the incredible water and theme park Imagica. The mighty Sahyadris are visible in the distance and get closer as one moves forward to repose at their foothills.

Many small villages, settlements and people herding cattle can be seen during the duration of the journey. Reach Yolo Khopoli by 15:00 hrs and will be greeted by hosts stationed there. Post freshening up, get gifted with merchandise and goodies by the hosts and start the weekend getaway together.

After everyone has finished eating and sipping drinks, a round of minute-to-win-it table games are held for all where you compete against each other for six rounds of different games which state that you complete the given task within a minute. Meanwhile, we bring out our instruments to enjoy a sing-along session with all travellers.

We then head to the Kondgaon Dam located nearby (five minutes on foot) on foot to enjoy a peaceful and calming sunset. The Kondgaon dam is a small reservoir with adjacent waterfalls and a river joining. One can walk along the walls of the dam as well as the sides of the reservoir and click Instagram worthy images. Flocks of birds perch and fly around the dam making it a sight to see. The sunset from the dam is phenomenal and the sky turns into shades of pink, purple and orange at the end of a bright, sunny day.

Upon returning from the dam we start setting up the bonfire and BBQ and everyone is given a chore related to them so that it is a group activity and everyone gets actively involved in it.

Once the bonfire is lit all the travellers gather around for bonfire games and BBQ war. This is usually accompanied by some drinks and music which makes the vibe more pleasant and lively. The travellers spend the rest of the evening at leisure which is wrapped up with the pretty bow of star gazing.

Since Yolo Khopoli is situated on foothills with flatland around, one can see the starry night in all its glory from there (under clear skies). Chances of seeing shooting stars are more and the cool breeze flowing through the farms take the vibes here to another level.

The next day wake up to the sounds of a hundred birds chirping and singing. A mellow breeze flowing through the farm rustling the leaves. Post breakfast, jump into the swimming pool for half an hour and chill out for a while. Then pack up and leave for Khopoli station via the tum-tum who was waiting outside the Yolo property.

Journey the same way you came, the only difference being, one will be boarding the 13:48 hrs Khopoli – CSMT fast train which will directly drop you to Ghatkopar.

Best times to visit : From the end of May to mid of Feb
