10 Important Things to Always Have in your Daypack

Backpacking is about travelling around places on a budget that does not allow for many frills. In a true sense, it saves money, is more fun, and helps one grow. Besides one’s backpack, there is also a daypack that one should keep which they travel short distances with. Here are 10 important must-haves in a daypack.

1. Toilet roll

This is one thing that serves multiple purposes – it helps wipe face and hands, is handy when answering nature’s call, can be used to wipe seats, stop leaks and spills from causing more damage, etc. A toilet roll is very handy. So it is an important must have.

2. Sanitizer in your daypack

Cleaning hands becomes an issue, especially when there is no water available while travelling or when the water is sub-zero temperature. A sanitizer comes in handy at such times and is very useful. While travelling in buses or any transport for a fact a sanitizer always comes handy. Nowadays its available everywhere even in the villages as well. So even if you forget one it can be purchased.

3. Power Bank

Mobile phones, laptops, music players, the camera being drained of charge are a major problem while travelling. Thankfully, power banks solve these issues and need to be kept fully charged.

4. ID card

Identity cards are very important when travelling, as they help, especially when seeking access to various tourist places. It also helps in showing that you are a citizen of the country, your age and the place you hail from which are sometimes needed for security in places like Himachal and Jammu-Kashmir, which are near the borders. An ID is like the most important thing to carry and have in your dapack.

5. Sunglasses/cap/umbrella

These are very handy especially as they prevent the sun’s rays from being too harsh. One can also wear them and catch some good sleep. They are also useful to stop smoke, etc from entering the eyes. Caps and umbrellas help to shield from the forces of nature.

6. Deodorant

Body odour and sweat are a problem, especially when one is physically exerting. Be sure to carry perfume or deodorant in your daypack so that you can be fresh and sweet-smelling.

7. Sunscreen

Another must-carry is sunscreen, as the sun’s rays are harsh and can do a lot of damage to the skin. Make sure to check the SPF and buy as per the area you are in. When travelling to the mountains a higher spf is much needed.

8. Water bottle

Hydration is always an important part of travel, and carrying a water bottle is always important. An empty bottle is always a good option as you can fill it at a water source for free rather than pay huge amounts for drinking water. Remember that if the water is good for the locals, it will work for you too.

9. First-aid

Making sure that band-aids, pain relief creams or sprays, cotton, and essential medicines that will help with aches, pains, and upset stomachs. Basic first aid is a must-have, especially while travelling. Carrying the correct first aid is very essential as you dont get all kind of medeicines when travelling to any remote place. So always prepared for the unexpcted when you’re a traveller.

10. Extra clothes

Any kind of mishap may happen, which could lead to clothes getting soiled, stained, or dirty. Carrying an extra pair is always advisable, as one can change into it.
