Tosh village is in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. Alongside the village is the Tosh river, which begins at the Tosh glacier within the Tosh Valley, which is a feeder valley for the Parvati Valley.

  • Altitude

Tosh is situated at an altitude of 2590 metres ASL (8500 feet) on a hill near Parvati Valley, surrounded by mountains.

  • Wooden Houses of Tosh

About 99% of houses in Tosh are made out of wood. These are the traditional houses of the local people. They are very beautiful and the best part is that travellers can also stay in some of them. Back in 2010, the village had only three guest houses.

  • Near Barsheini

Tosh is near Barsheini, which is also a base point to Kheerganga. It’s about 500 metres from the Barsheini bus stop. It also gives a good view of Barsheini.

  • Accessible all year round

Tosh remains accessible all year round which is for all 365 days in the year. It has very good road connectivity from all the towns of Parvati Valley. Regular bus services are operated there.

  • Covered in snow during the winters

Tosh remains covered in snow in the winter months from the end of December to mid-March. It is very beautiful to be there when everything is all covered in snow.

  • Snicker Chapati at cafes

Tosh boasts of some cool cafes in the Parvati Valley region. One of the specialities to be found there is Snicker Chapatis. Travellers and locals swear by it.

  • Himalayan dogs

You can find Himalayan dogs everywhere and in every cafe in Tosh. They will find you anywhere as well. They are very friendly and tag along through the village. Even those who hate dogs will start loving them.

  • Temple

There is a temple of Jamdagni Rishi at the centre of the village which is opened only once a year during either the month of January or February. No one can touch anything in the temple. If they do touch something they are fined Rs 10,000

  • Beautiful view of Himalayas

Tosh has some very beautiful views of the Himalayan snow-capped mountains all year round. The view of the Bunbuni mountain is amazing. Also, the Himalayan glaciers can be seen from Kutla.

  • Double rainbow waterfall

This waterfall literally has a double rainbow. It’s on the way to Kutla. This waterfall surrounded by mountains and valleys. It is a very beautiful view to behold.
