The Plateau of flowers: Kaas, Maharashtra

Located at an altitude of 4,068 feet above sea level and about 25 km away from the town of Satara in the state of Maharashtra lies the plateau of flowers. Kaas plateau is the Western Ghats reply to the Himalayan valley of flowers in the state of Uttarakhand.

The best way to reach the plateau from Satara is to drive there either by a private car or a hired one since the state transport or ST buses that ply in that direction are very unreliable. The town of Satara is very well connected to neighboring cities of Mumbai and Pune by road and also has very good railway connectivity.
