Nepal Backpacking | A Jaw-dropping country

The landlocked country of Nepal is a hidden gem amidst the Himalayan mountains. A true traveller’s nirvana, this place has a lot to offer from the surreal experience of Nepalese culture at Kathmandu to the buzzing nightlife of Thamel.

The 14th century Boudhanath stupa in Kathmandu is the largest stupa in Nepal. It’s a meditative monument where you can actually participate in group meditations. The Nepalese people call it “chorten chenpo” and it is a sacred site for Tibetan Buddhists. You will see a lot of devotees in and around the stupa since it’s a famous pilgrim site too.

The Kathmandu durbar square is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the three squares within Kathmandu valley. It is an essential site for Buddhist and Hindu rituals, holy ceremonies, royal events and the king’s coronation. It’s especially heavily crowded during festivals like Dussehra. 

Boating in Pokhara is one of the exhilarating activities in Nepal. The splendid Phewa lake is the best place for canoeing. You even get an option for pedal-driven boats, rowboats and sailboats and prices are charged as per the option.
