10 Fun tips to get your girl to travel

Travelling with your loved one can be a great excuse for getting to know each other better. Be it a hike to the Himalayas, a getaway to Hawaii or even a luxurious trip to Las Vegas; the results post-vacation can be astonishing.

But what a bummer it is if your girl is not a big fan of the weather changes and the jet lags, just like most of us. So here are a few tips to get you confident about literally showing her the world.

Be the nature guy for the girl

In most cases, the mention of hills, greenery and fresh air gets some of us listening to the plan. If your girl would choose tents over luxury hotel rooms then being the nature guy is your best bet. With your words, paint the scenery so beautiful that she would be a sport for anything that you plan for her. Waterfalls and hot water springs have always been more appealing than swimming pools. Keep in mind, you don’t want to keep yapping about it till she changes her mind.

Stand by your holiday plans

Your idea of a perfect holiday defines your personality to some extent. Whatever your style, three to five-star rooms or the classic humble tent, be honest about it. Your girl needs to know what kind of a holiday she has to be prepared for. You don’t want to tick her off with a shady tent when you promised her the comfort of an air-conditioned room.

First step to a great plan, do your research. If you have a concrete idea of the place and if you manage to pitch it in an intriguing way, she will definitely be in for it. Share the responsibility of booking tickets, packing bags, findings hotels and restaurants, buying travel essentials, etc. Planning an itinerary together would be a great plus point. “Why need a getaway when we already spend so much time together?” will be pretty much the question you have to answer if she’s not a very travel-friendly person. Speaking in general terms, most girls love to buy stuff all the time. If you think your girl is a shopper then pitch your holiday idea from a shopper’s perspective. Buy her a cute sweater and take her to Manali or tell her how the recent summer collection at the nearest mall has such a Dubai vibe to it. Also wearing your new clothes at a new place has a very positive and holiday-like feel about it.

Have anticipation activities

Going to Italy, why not learn how to make the perfect pasta or a romantic trip to France, why not learn the language and communicate in the most romantic way. It’s like they say “When in Rome do as the Romans do”. These activities, not any help you gel in with the foreign culture but it also gives you and her to look forward to a very authentic experience of what to you already know.

It’s true that planning is the key to every successful vacation. However, your girl does not want to put too many restrictions to your plan which would eventually turn her off. Make sure you just do the job of putting ideas in her head and let her take it from there. Let her sit with her own wild ideas and fine-tune the vacation to her expectations. Now this plan belongs to both of you and she’s already excited about it.

Subtle reminders

If you want your girl to go with you don’t let the plan just get lost among the deadlines and stress of daily life. Although constant direct reminders tend to be annoying, sweet subtle reminders are always pleasant and they get the job done. For instance, if it’s a Goa plan then get a suitable keychain for your bag to serve as a visual reminder for her, and make sure you carry that bag around. Start creeping hints in your conversation and turn it into a sweet dinner table conversation.

Be open to her suggestions. Do not turn her ideas down just because it doesn’t meet your standards or for whatever other reason. Be a good listener and you can expect her company for the travel.

Include surprises

Planning everything in the trip A to Z would not have too many thrills. Add unexpected twists to your plan which would help spice things up. Take a detour, deviate from your itinerary, get lost in the new place because finding your way back would be the memory you take back home.
